Banana "Ice Cream"

Well, I'm not sure this is the most timely recipe, considering it has gotten so cold in the last few days. But I wanted you to have it, during those times you're really wanting a cold treat, and didn't want to shove your face full of sugar. That's how much you all mean to me. :)
You'll notice I put ice cream in quotes. That's because there's no dairy in this recipe. Although, if you look closely enough at some store brands of ice cream, you mind find that the same is true for them. :-D

I feel like a broken record, but you seriously won't believe how easy this recipe is. But I will warn you, you need to like the taste of banana for this to be a winner. Like, really like it.  So I'd suggest you start small and do 1-2 bananas to see if you like it before going hog wild with the whole bunch.

Ready? Let's do this!

Ingredients
Banana

Optional Ingredients
Peanut Butter
Chocolate
Anything else you like in ice cream, including fruit, or cookies, etc.

Step 1: Cut bananas into smaller pieces - maybe 3-4 pieces per banana, place in ziploc plastic bag and freeze overnight.

Step 2: Dump bananas into food processor.
You'll notice I went bananas (haha) and did quite a few.
I'd suggest again, you start with a couple and make sure you like the taste.
Step 3: Turn on your food processor and let it churn away. Stop it every couple of minutes to scrape down the sides of the bowl

For a while it looks like chunky, grainy pieces of banana and you may think
this is a ridiculous exercise of fruitility, but keep going!
After several minutes, I'd say about 8-10....the magic happens....
And VOILA! Beautifully creamy ice-cream. Just magic!
Step 4: At this point you can jump to step 5, or you can add in your optional ingredients. I kept it simple, and only added peanut butter.

Just scoop it right into the food processor and process away

Step 5: Once it has been combined to your liking, transfer the contents of bowl to a freezer safe container and freeze overnight.

Step 6: Open container the next day, and ta-da! Banana Ice Cream!

Seriously, how amazing is this?!
And as a bonus, because it was just banana and peanut butter, this is completely dog friendly. Be careful if you add other things like chocolate, as dogs can get very sick if they eat certain foods. So if you do keep it to items he can eat, give your best buddy a little treat! Mine gobbled it up like there was no tomorrow! Hopefully you and your puppies will enjoy it too!
